Bariatric clients are often given a surface that is wide enough but not built for the load, and it bottoms out within months. The Forte Icon Maxx is made for the weight: a static foam pressure care mattress for a bariatric client assessed at medium risk of pressure injury.
Four layers do the work. An Airoform memory foam immersion layer on top, a graded postural support layer under it, and a firm foundation split into three sections so the mattress profiles properly with an adjustable or bariatric bed. Firm hinged sides hold the edge for sitting and transfers, and give carers something stable to work against when repositioning.
The Advantiflex Classic cover is vapour permeable and four-way stretch on top, heavy-duty waterproof underneath, with welded seams. It is made in a full run of sizes through to split queen halves for dual-motor beds, in two lengths, so it can be matched to the frame the client already has. A client at high risk already, or with deep tissue damage, needs an alternating air or hybrid system rather than static foam, and a lighter client is better matched to a standard-width Icon.
