This kit converts an Etac Swift Mobil into the self propelled configuration, giving a client who has the upper limb strength and the cognition for it the ability to move themselves to and from the shower without waiting for a carer.
It supplies the large rear wheels with solid tyres, the attachment hardware, tipping guards and the brake, so everything needed for the change is in one box. Solid tyres mean nothing to inflate and nothing to go flat in a wet room, and the brakes let the chair be parked securely for a transfer.
For a support coordinator, this is a useful option when a client’s function is expected to improve, or when a household has one chair being used by a person whose independence has come back after rehab. The chair itself does not need to be replaced.
