Not every use of a shower commode chair is a toileting occasion. When a client is only showering, or is using the chair as a seat while being dressed or having a dressing changed, the open seat is uncomfortable and can concentrate pressure around the cut out.
This soft cover closes the aperture and gives a continuous, padded sitting surface across the whole seat. It is thin enough not to change the client’s sitting height much, and it lifts off again when toileting access is needed, so the same chair covers both jobs during a shift.
For carers, it means one chair covers the bathroom, and one less transfer for the client. It is quick to fit and quick to clean between users, which suits shared or short term settings as well as a single client at home.
