Some clients need an upright supported gait but cannot put weight through their hands. The Days Gutter Walker with Handbrakes solves that: the client rests their forearms in padded gutters and holds vertical grips, so load travels through the elbows and forearms instead of the wrists.
The gutters adjust for height, so a therapist can set a comfortable elbow angle for each user. Two swivel castors at the front and fixed rear wheels keep it tracking straight, loop handbrakes on both handles act on the rear wheels, and the thick steel tubing gives a stable, heavy frame that does not wander. It folds for storage or transport between sites.
Who it suits
A client who needs support but cannot load the hands or wrists: rheumatoid arthritis, wrist or hand fractures, post-surgical restrictions, or reduced grip. It is also used for early mobilisation and gait retraining in rehab and residential settings. The high, forward-leaning support is not right for a client who needs to sit and rest while walking.
