The integrated overlay cover is the top layer for a Configura Bariatric seat. It sits over the cushion and takes the wear, the spills and the cleaning, which keeps the foam underneath doing its job for longer.
Because it is integrated with the chair, it stays put when the person transfers in and out and when the chair is tilted. A cover that slides is a shear risk in itself, so a fitted layer is part of the pressure care.
It also makes the practical side of the chair manageable in a facility. The cover can be taken off and cleaned, and it can be replaced on its own when it wears, without the whole cushion going out of service.
