A seat that is too deep is one of the most common reasons a bariatric client slides forward and ends up sacral sitting. This kit shortens the seat of a Configura Bariatric chair, so the back of the knee clears the front edge and the person can sit right back against the backrest.
Getting the depth right usually fixes several things at once: the pelvis stays back in the seat, the backrest does the work it was designed to do, and pressure comes off the area behind the knee. Clients who were constantly being repositioned often settle for much longer once the depth matches their thigh length.
It is fitted to the chair, not loose on the seat, so nothing shifts when the person moves or when the chair is tilted.
