A drop down sidepiece kit for the Configura Advance, supplied complete with its covers. It converts the fixed side of the chair into a section that lowers out of the way, which opens up the whole side of the seat for sling placement, lateral transfers and repositioning.
For carers this takes a lot of the work out of a transfer. The sling can be fed and collected at seat level, and a client who transfers sideways is not being lifted up and over a fixed edge. For the person in the chair it means fewer awkward movements and less risk of a knock during the transfer.
Because the covers come in the kit, the finished chair still matches, so it can be retrofitted to a chair already in service without it looking patched together.
