Extend a care bed for a tall client and you open a gap the mattress no longer covers. The Cobalt bolster is the foam infill that fills it, sitting at the head or the foot end so the sleeping surface stays continuous.
The foam core is wrapped in a vapour permeable, fluid resistant stretch PU cover in blue that wipes clean, and the whole thing is light enough for a carer to lift in and out when the bed is made. It suits the Cobalt K-Dee II, K-Dee Classic and Floorline beds and most other electric bed brands, and it is required when a K-Dee II bed extension is fitted.
Worth being clear about what it is not: a filler, not a pressure care surface. If the client has pressure injury risk at the heels, keep the heel zone of the pressure care mattress under the heels and put the bolster at the head end instead.
