Some clients need anterior trunk support but cannot work a buckle. This chest belt closes with hook and loop instead, and the moulded end tab is shaped to be grabbed easily and to sit flat against the chest once fastened, so a client with limited hand function can manage it themselves.
The hook and loop grips firmly, stays smooth against clothing and resists filling up with lint and grit, so it keeps holding after months of daily opening and closing. Adjustment is continuous along the strap, which means a carer can set the tension exactly where the therapist wants it and change it as clothing changes through the seasons.
A slip on pad is available where the client needs the load spread more broadly across the chest, and the belt can be ordered with either mounting style to suit the chair. Bodypoint note that a hip belt should always be worn with an anterior trunk support to stop the client sliding.
