When the tailbone is the problem, taking weight off it is the whole job. This ring cushion has an open centre so the coccyx is suspended rather than loaded, which is what clients need after childbirth, after perineal or rectal surgery, or through a flare of haemorrhoids, hip bursitis or prostate inflammation.
The top is convoluted foam, the same egg carton profile used on pressure care mattresses. The peaks take the load and the troughs let air move across the skin, so it sits cooler for a client who tends to sweat or whose skin is reactive. The foam is one piece and puncture proof, so it holds up in a house with pets or a chair with a broken spring.
It is light enough for a client to carry between the lounge chair, the car and the office, and the stretch cover comes off for the wash.
