This is the mounting hardware for an Axial biangular lateral pad: the bracket that fixes the pad to the backrest and holds the position the therapist sets.
Laterals only do their job if they stay exactly where they were put. The bracket carries the load of a client leaning into the pad all day and stops the pad drifting out of alignment, which is what turns a good seating setup into one that has stopped controlling the trunk by mid afternoon.
It is supplied as the bracket on its own, so a service can keep pads in use and replace hardware that has worn, or build a chair up from parts already held in stock. Fitting is done as part of the seating setup and the position is checked with the client sitting in the chair.
