The Pilot is a low profile cushion made from Akton viscoelastic polymer. Because it sits low under the client, it suits someone who propels with their feet and needs their heels on the floor, and someone who does a sideways transfer and wants the shortest step across.
The polymer lets bony areas immerse into the surface, so they are not perched on top of it, and which protects a client with fragile skin at moderate risk of pressure injury. There is nothing to inflate, adjust or check between reviews.
It gets used well beyond the wheelchair: a car seat on a long drive, a dining chair, an office chair, a recliner. An economy cover and an incontinence cover are both available, and both come off for washing.
