Bed rails give a person something solid to hold while they roll, sit up or swing their legs out, and they mark the edge of the bed for someone who wakes confused at night.
These are three quarter length rails in steel with a cream finish, supplied as a pair for both sides of the bed. The collapsible design drops the rail out of the way for transfers and personal care, then brings it back up in one movement, so a carer is not lifting a loose rail off and finding somewhere to store it. Leaving the top of the bed clear also keeps access at the head end for a sling or a slide sheet.
They suit a person who still moves about in bed and needs a handhold to do it. Gaps against the mattress and bed frame should be checked at install and after any mattress change.
