Slings

A sling is the part of a hoist system that touches the person, so fit, fabric and style matter. The range includes universal and full body slings, toileting slings, standing slings, hammock slings with head support, walking slings, amputee slings and disposable options, in a choice of sizes and fabrics.
Slings should be prescribed for the individual and the task. Consider trunk and head control, hip stability, skin condition, whether the sling stays in situ or is removed, and the spreader bar style on the hoist. Measure the person and check the sling safe working load matches or exceeds the hoist. Mesh fabrics suit showering; padded slings suit long sits.
Thrive Lifecare supplies slings Tasmania-wide, with sizing advice, trials, quotes for NDIS, Home Care Packages and Support at Home, DVA or private purchase, and replacement of worn slings during hoist servicing. Book a trial to test sling fit on the person’s own hoist.
