The R82 Meerkat is a standing aid for children who can take some weight through their legs and need a frame that supports without boxing them in. It holds the child upright while leaving room to shift, turn and reach, which is what makes standing a useful activity rather than a static stretch.
The centre column can sit in front of the child or behind them. That single choice changes how the frame is used: behind, the child has a clear field of view and open space to work in; in front, they have something to lean into and support against. It also means the same frame can meet two quite different clinical goals.
Standing at the right height puts the child at eye level with the people around them, which turns a standing session into a conversation, a game or a table activity. Movement and interaction do more for tolerance than time alone does.
Adjustments are made with a ratchet system in small, secure increments, with no tools needed, and the low entrance height makes transferring in straightforward for parents and carers.
