The R82 x:panda shape covers a wide span of need, from early intervention seating for a small child through to complex postural support for a young person who has run out of options. It is the same family as the x:panda, with shaping that wraps the user more closely.
What it offers a therapist is adjustability without starting again. Width, depth and back height all adjust, so a seat prescribed early can keep working as the child grows and as the clinical picture changes. That is a real saving for families and for funding bodies, and it means less time with a child in a seat that no longer fits while a replacement is approved.
A stable, well supported base changes what a child can do from it: reach, eat, use a communication device, play with other children. Support is the means, participation is the point.
Seats come in Simple and Advanced versions, and published measurements for the smaller sizes are for the Advanced seats, with the Simple seat figures in the user manual.
