Some clients will not wear anything that feels like a nappy. Abena Pants Premium L1 pull up and down like ordinary underwear, which is often the difference between a product being used and a product sitting in the cupboard. This is the large size, level 1 of the large range, for light to moderate urinary loss.
The core uses Abena’s Top-Dry layer to move urine off the skin fast, with lengthwise and cross barriers and elastic to catch leaks all the way round. The back sheet is a breathable textile and the waistband has a high thread count so the pant holds its shape through the day. A wetness indicator with a graduated scale tells a carer when a change is due without undressing the client. The sides tear open for removal and a built-in tape rolls the used pant up for disposal.
It works well for a client who is mobile or can stand with help: urge incontinence, early dementia, or arthritis that makes fiddly tabs a struggle. For a client who is changed lying down, or who needs more capacity overnight, an all-in-one brief such as Abri-Form or the higher absorbency L3 pant is the better call.
