Not every client can have a rail screwed to the wall. Rental housing, respite units, a week away: the portable suction bar gives a handhold in all of them. Press it onto a smooth non-porous surface, glazed tile, glass, acrylic or metal, flip the two levers down to lock it, and flip them up when you want to move it.
It goes on and comes off by hand with no tools, leaves no marks, and takes up little room in a bag. The grip is textured so a wet hand does not slide. This is the small size; a large size is also made.
Be clear with the client about what it is: a balance aid for a light steadying hold when stepping into a shower or turning in it, not a weight-bearing rail. If they pull up from a shower chair, lean their weight on it, or the wall is small tiles with grout lines under the cups, specify a screw-fixed grab rail instead.
Good to know
- Check the suction each time before use and re-fit if the indicator shows it has loosened
- Will not hold on painted plaster, textured tile, timber or wallpaper
- Sizing and safe working load to be confirmed with our team before ordering
