The Aspire Over Toilet Aid is a free-standing frame that stands over the toilet, raises the sitting height and gives the client arms to push up from. It is the straightforward answer when the standard pan is simply too low to get off.
Height is set with push-button legs, and one leg carries extra increments so the frame can be levelled on an uneven bathroom floor. The moulded seat clips on and lifts off for cleaning, and a removable moulded splash guard directs urine into the bowl. Frames come in corrosion treated steel or a lighter aluminium version, both on non-slip feet seated on stainless steel washers.
Who it suits
A client who finds the standard toilet too low after hip or knee surgery, with arthritis, or with general weakness, and who has enough balance to lower onto a seat with arm support. It also works as a shower chair over a floor waste if a solid seat is not needed. A padded seat is available as an option for longer sitting.
