This is the plain, dependable version: a square of natural rubber with a raised pattern on top and suction pads underneath, sized to cover the standing area of a standard shower recess. The pattern gives the feet grip on a wet surface, and the pads hold the mat in place so it does not creep across the base while the client is standing on it.
It suits a client who is unsteady on wet tiles, whether they shower standing or step in and out of a recess, and a client using a shower stool who needs a stable footing on the base. It lifts off for cleaning, which matters more than people expect: rinse it after use and hang it to dry so soap film does not build up under the pads and break the grip.
The pads need a smooth, non-textured base, so check the shower floor before ordering.
Good to know
- Suction pads only grip on a smooth, clean surface
- Natural rubber: not suitable where there is a latex allergy
- Check the mat is still stuck down before each shower
