For clients whose legs or arms are heavy, painful or oedematous, this limb sling lets a hoist take the weight. Loop attachments hook onto a loop style spreader bar, so the limb can be raised to a working height and held there while care goes on underneath.
It earns its place in wound care, compression management, hygiene and dressing routines, and any time a limb has to stay raised for more than a moment. Manual holding is uncomfortable for the person and hard on the carer’s back and shoulders, and a hoisted sling takes both problems away.
Loop fittings give some adjustment in how high the limb is lifted, depending on which loops are used, which helps when the same sling is used for different tasks.
