Velcro footstraps hold a client’s feet flat on the footplate through a routine. When the feet stay down, the legs keep taking load, the pelvis stays back in the seat, and the sitting posture above it holds together, with much less sliding forward.
They suit clients whose feet come off the plate with movement or spasm, clients who cannot correct their own foot position, and anyone whose feet end up dragging or catching during a transfer. For the carer, it takes one recurring correction out of the routine.
The velcro closure means they go on and off quickly with wet hands, and they can be adjusted to the client’s shoe or bare foot without tools. They wipe down with the rest of the chair.
