Small bathrooms are the usual problem in Tasmanian housing stock, and the Edge is shaped for them. Its three legged, triangular seat fits into a shower corner and keeps the floor clear, so a client can sit safely without the stool blocking the entry or the carer’s feet.
The client can sit on it in more than one way, including straddling it or dropping a leg to one side, which helps when a hip is painful or range is limited. Perforations let the water through, the seat surface is non slip, and the angled legs with grippy ferrules hold on wet and slightly uneven tiles.
Height adjusts with a click and press mechanism, and the oval legs stop the seat twisting once it is set. It goes together without tools, so it can be taken apart for respite or travel.
