A quad cane gives a client a base of support that stays standing when they let go of it. That is the point for someone with hemiplegia or significant balance loss, who needs more stability than a single point stick offers and who cannot manage a frame through a narrow hallway.
The offset handle puts the client’s weight over the centre of the base, not out to one side, which is easier on the wrist and steadier through the step. A soft foam grip takes some of the load off arthritic hands. The base can be turned for a left or a right handed user, so the same cane suits either side.
Height adjusts on a locking collar, and the aluminium construction keeps it light enough for a client to lift and place with control.
