A folded seat walker that springs open while it is being lifted is awkward for a carer and risky in a car park. This small clip holds the frame closed so the walker stays folded while it is carried, stored or loaded.
It fits walkers with round tubular frames. To lock it, fold the walker, rest it on the rear wheels and push the contoured pad up until the tip enters the hinge opening. Pushing the pad down releases it, and the walker opens as normal once the brakes are squeezed.
It is a cheap fix for clients who load a walker in and out of a vehicle every day, and for aged care sites storing walkers in a corridor. Check the frame tubing before ordering, as it will not suit every walker.
