This is Pride’s next generation self-propelled manual wheelchair, set up for a user who can push themselves but still wants an attendant to be able to take over. Quick-release rear wheels come off for the boot, and attendant brakes with locks sit on the push handles.
Who it suits
It suits a client with reasonable upper limb strength who needs a dependable everyday chair for daily use. The armrests are height adjustable and angled, the legrests swing away with calf support for transfers and for getting close to a bed or toilet, and the backrest flips down so the chair loads flat into a car. Anti-tip wheels are adjustable and a seat belt is fitted as standard.
The aluminium frame keeps it light enough for a family member to lift, which is often the deciding factor in whether a chair actually gets used in the community.
