Turning a fully dependent client for pressure care is hard work, and it is harder again when the pad underneath has to be changed at the same time. The SystemRoMedic TopSheet does both jobs at once. It lies under the client in place of a slide sheet and an incontinence pad, and its straps clip to a hoist sling bar or a bed rail so the hoist does the lifting while the carer guides the turn.
The top is soft brushed polyester over a super-absorbent layer, with a PU-coated barrier below it that keeps fluid off the sheets and mattress. The underside of this PH1515 version is ultra-low friction material, so it slides across the mattress with very little push. It is built in two parts, and the lower section can be replaced on its own when it wears out rather than retiring the whole sheet.
Who it suits
A client nursed in bed who needs regular turning for pressure care and who is incontinent or has wound drainage, in a setting where repeated manual turns are putting carers at risk. It works with a ceiling hoist or a mobile hoist brought to the bedside.
