An adjustable blanket support cradle lifts the bedclothes clear of the legs and feet, for a client who cannot tolerate their weight. That is often someone with a pressure injury on the heel, a leg ulcer, a recent graft, painful oedema or neuropathic pain where even a sheet is too much contact.
Because the height adjusts, you can set the clearance to match the dressing or the swelling on the day and change it as the wound settles. Taking the pressure off the toes also helps hold the ankle out of plantarflexion overnight, which is worth having in a client who is in bed for long stretches.
It fits to the bed and stays put, so a carer can make the bed around it without rebuilding the set-up each morning.
