Homecraft Brevetti Sock and Stocking Aid

Code PAT-AA4666

A rigid sock and stocking aid from Homecraft with a plastic collar that holds the sock open and a long coated steel handle, so the client can pull a sock on without bending to the foot. The handle ends in a shoehorn with a notch that also pushes the sock off again.

About this product

Some clients cannot reach their feet and cannot manage cords either. The Homecraft Brevetti is the rigid option: a plastic collar on the end of a long coated steel handle holds the sock or stocking open while the foot slides in, and the whole job is done seated, without bending the hip past a safe angle.

The rigid frame is what makes it worth choosing. There is nothing to thread and nothing to pull, so it holds a firm compression stocking open, and a client who has hand strength but poor fine control can still work it. The other end of the handle is a plastic shoehorn with a notch, which means the same tool helps shoes on in the morning and hooks socks off at night. It wipes clean and is ready to use out of the box.

Think of it for a client on hip precautions after surgery, with limited hip or knee flexion, or with back pain that stops them reaching down. It does need a reasonable grip and enough shoulder range to hold the handle out to the foot.

Good to know

  • No assembly, ready to use
  • Works with socks and compression stockings
  • Keep with the client’s other dressing aids; a dressing stick and long shoehorn cover most lower-body dressing tasks
