Drinking is hard work when grip is weak or when a client is reclined and cannot bring a cup to their mouth without spilling. The Kennedy Cup answers both. The handle is shaped to be picked up by a hand with little grip strength, and it works for a left or a right hander.
The lid screws down tightly and takes any standard disposable straw, so the cup can be tipped, knocked or laid over without emptying itself. That means a client can keep a drink beside them in bed or in a chair and manage their own fluids between checks, which is often the difference between adequate intake and a hydration problem.
It handles warm and cold drinks, is latex free and goes through the dishwasher. A practical addition to a mealtime plan for clients with tremor, reduced coordination or limited head and neck control.
