Some clients will not have a bathroom aid in the house because of how it looks. This mat is clear rubber, so it gives a slip resistant surface to stand on in the shower without announcing itself to visitors. The textured top grips underfoot and suction cups on the underside hold it to a smooth shower floor.
It covers the standing area of a standard recess and suits a client with reduced balance, or one who has become wary of the shower after a slip. It also helps where a shower stool is used and the client plants their feet on the base.
Suction cups only work on a smooth, flat surface, so check the bathroom before ordering. Textured tiles, a drain grate in the middle of the base, or a floor that falls to a channel will all stop it sealing. Lift it after each shower so the floor and the underside dry out, and wash it regularly to keep the cups clean.
