A cracked or worn buckle is a safety issue on a positioning vest: it either will not hold tension or it releases under load. This is the non hinged replacement buckle for Therafin vests, so a vest that is otherwise in good condition does not have to be replaced over one component.
Swapping the buckle restores the original closure action, which keeps the vest doing what it was prescribed to do for anterior trunk support. It also keeps the client in a vest they are already used to, which avoids a new fitting and a new adjustment period.
Keeping a spare on hand is worth considering for clients who use their vest every day, and for schools and group homes where one broken buckle takes a chair out of use.
We are Tasmanian owned and can get parts like this moving quickly.
