Who it suits
Clients who can stand with support and need to be moved a short distance, between bed and chair, chair and commode, or chair and wheelchair. The carer brings the platform in, the client stands and holds the handlebar, and the whole transfer is done upright on wheels, with no lifting.
Knee support padding steadies the legs through the stand, which is what makes the move possible for someone with limited or unreliable weight bearing. An optional safety belt adds a further point of security for clients who fatigue partway through a transfer. Brakes hold the platform still for the sit and the stand, and release for the travel in between.
The frame is metal with an antibacterial powder coating, and the padding has no seams, so it cleans down properly between clients in a shared or clinical setting. Staff can learn it quickly, which helps in services with casual and agency carers.
