The Staebel lifting sheet is used to move an injured person horizontally when a stretcher or a hoist is not available or cannot be brought to them. Falls management plans, first response kits and post resuscitation transfers are the usual places it earns its keep.

The sheet spreads the lift across several handlers, so each person is taking a share of the load with a proper grip on a purpose built handle. It is light enough to store in a cupboard or a vehicle, and it can stay under the patient once they are moved, which means the person does not have to be handled twice.

The fabric is waterproof and fire retardant and washes at high temperature, so it can go back into service between uses.
