Who it suits
Families who want to take an xRover onto sand, and clients who miss out on beach and dune outings because standard wheels dig in. The set swaps the stroller’s wheels for wide balloon tyres that float over soft ground, so the person stays in the seating they are already set up in.
Low tyre pressure does two jobs: it keeps the stroller moving across loose sand, and it takes the jolts out of the ride for a client who is sensitive to vibration. Forks and axles are made from salt water resistant steel, and the tyres are high impact abrasion resistant plastic, so a day in salt water and grit does not shorten the life of the parts. The whole set has been tested in laboratory and real summer heat conditions.
Changeover takes a few minutes and uses the same quick release fitting as the standard wheels, so a parent or support worker can do it in the car park. A washable carry bag is included for the wheels between trips.
