Moving a person between a bed and a trolley, or a trolley and a theatre table, leaves a gap that is awkward and unsafe to lift across. The Patslide bridges it. The board spans the two surfaces and the person is drawn across on it, staying flat and supported the whole way.

The top surface is slippery and the underside grips, so the person slides and the board does not. It flexes enough to follow the movement without folding, and it is light enough for one staff member to position and store. The thermoplastic it is made from is X ray translucent, so imaging can go ahead without taking it out from under the person.

It is a transfer aid and not a lifting device, which is worth reinforcing in staff training.
