A calf panel stops a client’s lower legs sliding back behind the footplates, which is a common cause of skin damage on the back of the calf and of feet coming off the plates altogether. The panel runs between the footrest hangers and gives the calves something to rest against.
The premium version is a single piece of knit covered neoprene with bound edges and hook and loop fastening, so it goes on and comes off quickly for cleaning and it holds its shape in use. It is light enough that it adds nothing noticeable to the weight of the chair.
Sizing is by chair width, and there is a standard range as well as the premium range if a simpler panel is all that is needed.
