Back channels are the aluminium tracks that let laterals, headrest hardware, belts and other supports be mounted anywhere along the back of a seating system. Square nuts sit inside the channel and slide to where the support is needed, so a position can be changed later without drilling a new hole.
That matters most for growing children and for clients whose posture is changing, because a review can be acted on the same day without waiting on a new back. Slots on regular centres give repeatable positions, which is useful when a support has to come off for cleaning and go back exactly where it was.
They are sold in pairs and in a range of lengths, matched to the height of the back they are going on.
