The commode pan turns an R82 Flamingo into a toileting chair away from the toilet itself. It slides in under the seat, which lets a child use the chair in a bedroom, at school or anywhere the bathroom is not accessible at the moment it is needed.
It also matters in homes where the toilet cannot be reached in a wheelchair, or where a slow bowel routine is better managed somewhere warm and private. The child stays in the position their seating gives them, which is usually the difference between a routine that works and one that does not.
The pan lifts out for emptying and cleaning, so it fits the ordinary care routine without adding much to it. It is an R82 part, so it sits in the chair as designed.
