The Whitmyer Single Sub Occipital provides lateral cervical support with an occipital pad that adjusts independently behind it. Setting the two separately lets a clinician support the neck on one side and still get the back of the head sitting where it should.
For a client with an asymmetrical head position, this independence is what makes the support workable. Rather than forcing the head into a symmetrical pad, the support is brought to the position the client actually holds, which usually means better tolerance and less pushing against it.
Occipital pads come in several sizes so the contact area can be matched to the client, with reversed Dartex or Lycra covers, and the assembly mounts on Whitmyer hardware including the Onyx, Linx and Pro systems.
