Who it suits
An active self propelling client who wants the ride quality of a rigid frame and still needs the chair to fold into a car, a hallway cupboard or an aircraft hold. Titanium also suits clients who find aluminium frames harsh over rough footpaths, because the material dampens vibration through the frame.
The Catalyst 5Ti is built from Ti3AL/2.5V titanium alloy and uses a dual interlocking cross brace, so the frame locks together and wastes very little of each push in unwanted frame movement. The seat rails sit side by side, passing the client’s weight into the side frames and keeping the chair light without thinning the structure. A power hinge link carries the folding load so the chair stays solid with or without the seat upholstery.
A universal axle plate sets the seat to floor height in small increments and moves the centre of gravity across a usable range, so the chair can be tuned from responsive to stable as a client’s skills change. The legrests mount and remove from any angle, and the unpainted titanium resists scratching and corrosion.
