Seat height decides whether a client can get their feet flat on the floor or on the footplate. This kit lowers the seat of a Configura chair by an inch, which is often all that is needed for a shorter client whose feet were dangling.
Feet properly loaded change how the whole body sits. Weight shifts off the back of the thigh, the pelvis is more stable, and a client who can push through their feet has a much better chance of standing or repositioning themselves. For someone who cannot transfer independently it still reduces the pull on the pelvis that comes from unsupported legs.
It is fitted to the chair frame, so the adjustment is permanent until a clinician changes it and nothing sits loose on the seat.
