Who it suits
This chair is for a bariatric client who needs to be showered and toileted while seated, and who cannot hold an upright posture for the length of the task. The frame tilts the whole seat backwards to shift load off the sitting bones, and the backrest reclines and the legrests elevate independently, so you can open the hips and knees without giving up the tilt angle you have set.
Everything that meets water is stainless steel, so the chair can be taken into the shower and hosed down as part of a normal routine. Locking castors and larger centre wheels make it steadier to push across a wet bathroom floor with a heavy person on board.
For a carer, the independent adjustments mean one person can position a client for washing, for perineal care and for transfer without handling them into place each time. The seat can be widened at the arms to suit a broader client.
