Fixed side supports give the Caribou a firm lateral boundary at the trunk. They suit a client who leans consistently to one side or needs a defined limit to push against, where an adjustable support would only invite drift.
Each support carries a neoprene covered pad on a fixed bar, so the contact surface is soft against the ribs while the structure behind it does not move. Covers come off for washing and can be replaced on their own when they wear, which keeps the frame in service.
They are sized to the frame, so the pad lands on the trunk at the right height for your client, not under the arm or on the hip. Fitting takes tools and is best done at the same appointment as any chest or shoulder support you are adding.
