Who it suits
This alternating pressure overlay suits clients at medium risk of pressure injury who are spending long periods in bed and whose existing mattress is otherwise fine. It sits on top of that mattress, so a home bed can be brought up to an active support surface without replacing anything.
Automatic weight sensing sets the pressure for the client, so nobody has to work out a dial setting and nobody is left on the wrong pressure because a carer guessed. A two cell cycle keeps the load moving under the client through the day and night.
Set up and daily use are simple, which matters when the people managing it are family, not clinical staff. A quick pull CPR tab deflates the surface fast if the client needs resuscitation.
