The hinged knee support holds a child’s leg with a pad above and a pad below the knee on adjustable hardware, so the knee is controlled from both directions. It is the option to reach for when a knee wants to hyperextend or drift into flexion once weight goes through the leg.
Splitting the support in two lets you set the angle and the height for each leg on its own, which is useful where one leg behaves differently from the other.
