A bath lift keeps the bath in use when a walk-in shower is not on the cards. The Bellavita sits on the bath floor on four suction feet, lowers your client right down into the water, then lifts them back to the rim at the end. The backrest reclines under power, so they can lie back rather than sit bolt upright.
It weighs little for what it does, splits into two parts without tools and comes out of the bath in a minute, which matters in a household where other people use the same bath. The hand control is waterproof and floats, and the lithium battery is built into it. Fold down side flaps take the place of fixed armrests and support the sideways transfer on and off the seat.
Your client needs to be able to transfer sideways onto the seat from the bath edge or a transfer bench, with or without help, and to have enough sitting balance to use the flaps for support. It is a common choice for Support at Home clients and NDIS participants who want to stay in the bathroom they already have.
