Shoulder supports are the answer when a client with low trunk tone collapses forward or rotates once the backrest is reclined. The pads sit high on the back, above the usual side support line, and hold the shoulder girdle square so the head stays over the midline and breathing and swallowing are not compromised during a wash.

They mount to the Heron backrest and adjust to the client, so you can dial in how much contact the shoulders get and leave it set. Carers get a client who stays presented and open at the front of the chair, which makes washing the chest, underarms and neck a one person job in most cases.
