Plenty of clients spend the day in one armchair and are then expected to get up and move to a table to eat. This table takes the opposite approach. It rolls over the arms of a lounge chair or recliner and brings the working surface to the client.
The curved top tilts for reading, writing or a tablet, with a partial back rim that stops things sliding off when it is angled. A separate small side table with a cup recess stays level, so a drink does not have to be moved every time the main top is adjusted. The laminated teak top wipes clean and can be disinfected, and height adjusts to suit the chair and the person.
It suits clients who spend most of the day in an armchair or lift recliner at home or in aged care, particularly where fatigue or reduced mobility make a transfer to the dining table costly. The tilt helps a client who reads or uses a device with limited neck or shoulder movement. It is heavy enough to stay put once positioned, which also means it is not the option for a client who wants to move it around themselves.
