The Endeavour Universal Bed Stick is the straightforward answer for a client who can move themselves in bed once they have something to hold. It is a single upright with a 180 degree return handle, used to sit up, turn over and get in and out of bed.
The return shape is the part worth noting clinically. The hand cannot slide off the end of it, which makes it a safer grip than an open loop for a client with weak hands or an unreliable grasp. The large square base plate slides under the mattress, so nothing clamps to the bed frame and the stick can be set up on either side of the bed and moved later if the room changes.
It comes up often after hip or back surgery, for clients with reduced core strength, and where a carer is doing too much of the work of bed mobility. Steel construction, no ongoing adjustment, nothing for the client to operate.

- For standard domestic beds only. It is not for hospital bed frames, which need a clamp on bed stick
- The weight of the mattress holds the base plate in place, so check the plate sits fully under the mattress
